Yorgos Maraziotis (b. 1984, Athens) holds an MA (cum laude) degree in Fine Arts from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and a BA (HONS) First Class degree from the University of Wolverhampton. He has also studied Printmaking at the S.V.A in New York. He uses sculpture, installation art, printmaking and text, and focuses on the topics of belonging, contemporary habitation and human relations. Through oral histories, archiving and an economy of media he examines the socio-political and architectural conditions of public domains and art institutions, and their impact to civic life. He is a former resident artist of Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (North Adams, USA), an ARTWORKS Fellow of Stavros Niarchos Foundation and a grantee of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, the European Union and the Goethe Institut. He lives and works in Antwerp.
